Did You Know? The 2008-09 provincial budget provided more than $20 million to support the inclusion of people with disabilities in the social and economic life of our province. Programs & Services Community LivingCommunity Living is a Division of the Ministry of Social Services. The main objective of the Community Living Division is to ensure physical, emotional, and social needs are met and that people with intellectual disabilities live and function as independently as possible within their own communities. Support and information for parents and guardians of children with intellectual disabilities include a Respite Program. Staff of the Community Living Division deliver programs and services primarily through an extensive system of community-based social, residential, vocational and early childhood agencies. They work in partnership with provincially-based representatives and advocacy organizations. The Division is a signator of a three-way partnership agreement between the Saskatchewan Association of Rehabiliation Centres and the Saskatchewan Association for Community Living. |
